Mica Galvão

Mica Galvão is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and one of the most accomplished competitors of his generation. A child prodigy from Manaus, Brazil, Galvão built a reputation for defeating older and more experienced opponents from an early age before becoming one of the youngest elite black belts in the sport.

Trained by his father, Melqui Galvão, Mica began competing as a child and quickly dominated the juvenile divisions, capturing major IBJJF titles around the world. After receiving his black belt at just 17 years old, he continued his rapid rise by winning prestigious championships in both gi and no-gi competition against the world’s best athletes.

Known for his aggressive submission hunting, relentless pace and technical versatility, Galvão has established himself as one of the leading competitors across multiple rulesets, including IBJJF, ADCC and professional superfight promotions. His success in both gi and no-gi competition has made him one of the sport’s most complete grapplers.

Still in the early stages of his career, Galvão is widely viewed as one of the defining athletes of the next generation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
