Black Belt Nutrition Protein Bars Review

Last week, we were lucky enough to get 2 boxes of Black Belt Nutrition protein arm bars from the good people over at blackbeltnutrition.com. Since then, it’s fair to say that they’ve been welcomely received and have gone down well.

Let’s be honest, these days there are thousands of protein bars out there, however for the most part they’re pretty similar to one another. Not only this, but they’re often quite pricey for what they are and can be packed with sugar. So, although certain protein bars are marketed as healthy, they’re actually not…which is quite a big deal if you’re training and eating one or two bars per day.

Unlike other protein bars, these are genuinely healthy

This is where the Black Belt Nutrition protein bars differ from others on the market. In short, they are very healthy whilst maintaining good taste which means they tick all the right boxes. The reason for this is that each bar is made from genuinely healthy ingredients which will aid your recovery. There are no E numbers or bogus stuff here.

For instance, the bars are made from a mixture of whey powder, spinach, kale, cocoa powder, pink salt, and hemp. It’s no secret that hemp has real healing qualities and will help your muscles recover quicker than going without. In other words, this is the real deal and isn’t just protein mixed with sugars and synthetic, processed junk. Basically, you can literally taste the quality and they don’t taste like they’re grown in a lab unlike other brands.

They also taste pretty good…

Each bar has 15g of protein which is enough to help aid with your recovery, and they taste nice but also pretty unique. For instance, you can actually smell the flavor from outside the wrapper which means they’re pretty potent. It has a rich, chocolatey taste which is mixed with bits of hemp and various other natural ingredients.

The result is that you probably won’t have tasted anything like this on the market. That may sound like an outlandish claim, but most protein bars lack hemp or finer ingredients such as kale which give it its kick. When you add in the unsweetened chocolate chips which are a nice texture, it combines to make a great workout bar.

As said, the taste of these bars is quite unusual but after one or two, you will want more. Sadly, they were all gone within a few days which shows how nice they were – but more importantly, they’re healthy and will help prevent injuries by repairing your muscles and other parts of your body.

Black Belt Nutrition was tested by several BJJ black belts

Another key part of these protein bars is that they’re made by two BJJ black belts. Black Belt Nutrition was founded by Rocco Flores who had a variety of BJJ black belts and professional athletes test these products before they were released. David Harris, Oliver Cruz, Gabriel Sousa and UFC fighter Frank Camacho were all part of this initial process. This is actually quite relevant, considering most workout foods are made by big companies or are aimed towards weight lifters. There is now something on the market which you know has been tested by people who have similar body types to grapplers.

Put another way, these bars are made by people that have spent years on the mat and know what it’s like to train hard. Basically, BJJ can be tough on your body and training regularly can take a toll on your body. Coupled with injuries that can take years to heal, it’s pretty sensible to combat aches and pains with the correct foods as much as possible. This is where Black Belt Nutrition protein bars play their part.

Conclusion

If you’re a grappler who is looking at supplementing your diet with a genuinely healthy, tasty chocolate protein bar then this is a good product to get hold of. Remember, in BJJ and in life you only get one body so it makes sense to put the right stuff into it, rather than looking for shortcuts or gimmicky alternatives.
