UFC Fighter Paul Craig promoted to BJJ black belt by coach Brian Gallacher

Last weekend was a great time for Scottish UFC fighter Paul Craig. After submitting Jamahal Hill with an armbar which broke his arm, he was later awarded the Performance of the night bonus, landing him an extra $50,000. This was his third bonus in his last six fights, with the others coming from landing a triangle and rear naked choke.

Because of this, it’s fair to say that Paul Craig is well versed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. So much so, that his coach Brian Gallacher decided to promote him to the rank of black belt. However, this wasn’t just a typical promotion, as it took place over beers at a bar. Here, Gallacher literally handing Craig the black belt to which he replied, “Thank you, brother”

Craig’s MMA record currently stands at an impressive 15-4 and hasn’t lost since six fights ago. Back in 2015, he also placed third at the Abu Dhabi World Pro in the purple belt division.
