Surprisingly, the possibility of a confrontation is shaping up, though not necessarily a full-fledged fight. Johnson, who has been considering a transition to grappling, declared his intention to arrange a grappling match with Martyn during a recent podcast.
While Brendan Schaub has vehemently expressed his belief that Martyn would be outmatched by Demetrious Johnson, opinions from the general public remain uncertain. Notably, Joe Rogan has offered his perspective, suggesting that in a ‘street fight’ scenario, Martyn might have a chance at victory against Johnson.
As we all know in BJJ, size matters but sometimes technique trumps all. And, seeing as Mighty Mouse is still active in MMA – it looks like the smart money would be on him considering his stellar grappling background. Just don’t expect him to suplex Bradley Martyn anytime soon.
