ADCC European & Middle East / African Trials Begin Next Week

The ADCC European, Middle Eastern, and African Trials 2023 are scheduled for September 16th, and we’ve prepared a comprehensive preview of each division for the event. This marks the first ADCC Trials event for ADCC 2024, and it will determine the first entrants for the prestigious no-gi grappling tournament.

Unfortunately, for female competitors participating in this edition of ADCC trials, there will be no invites available, and only the winners of the men’s divisions will secure spots at ADCC 2024.

Men’s Under 66kg

Competitors To Watch – This division features fierce competition, with the last two tournament winners, Ashley Williams and Sam McNally, competing. Additionally, top European contender Kamil Wilk is expected to be a formidable challenger.

Men’s Under 77kg

Competitors To Watch – Veteran competitor Oliver Taza and last year’s winner, Tommy Langaker, are top contenders in this weight class. Mateusz Szczecinski, although not a previous winner, is also a strong favorite.

Men’s Under 88kg

Competitors To Watch – Santeri Lilius, a returning Trials winner, leads this division. Tarik Hopstock, Jed Hue and Miha Perhavec are other standout competitors with a chance to secure invites.

Men’s Under 99kg

Competitors To Watch – Perttu Tepponen, the winner in 2021, aims to repeat his success. Luke Griffith, the following year’s winner, poses a significant challenge. Declan Moody is also a top contender.

Men’s Over 99kg

Competitors To Watch – Dan Manasoiu, a returning ADCC Trials winner, dominates this division. Heikki Jussila, another former Trials winner, is the next top contender.

Women’s Under 55kg

Competitors To Watch – This is a new division, and there are no returning winners. Zofia Szawernowska and Ashley Bendle are considered strong contenders, although the competition is open.

Women’s Under 65kg

Competitors To Watch – Peyton Letcher, a previous ADCC Trials winner, is a formidable competitor. Selma Vik and Rosa Walsh are also strong contenders.

Women’s Over 65kg

Competitors To Watch – Hannah Griffith is the standout favorite in this small division and is expected to secure the gold medal.
