Two of the most celebrated talents in grappling, the Ruotolo brothers, have recently unveiled their impressive new training facility in Costa Rica. Following over a year of construction, the 21-year-old black belts have established a multi-faceted training haven, complete with a pool, dedicated mat space, comfortable living quarters, and convenient access to the nearby beach.
Previously, the pair lived in San Diego and trained under Andre Galvao at the ATOS HQ where they made their name.
This ambitious project stems in part from the brothers’ success in ONE Championship, where their exceptional performances regularly earn them substantial performance bonuses, undoubtedly contributing to the facility’s funding. Additionally, their well-known passion for surfing and deep connection to Costa Rica played a significant role in choosing this idyllic location.
Kade Ruotolo, the reigning 77kg ADCC champion with a remarkable 100% submission rate, currently holds the ONE lightweight submission grappling world title. He is slated to defend it against former opponent Tommy Langaker this Sunday at ONE 165. While committed to grappling for now, Kade has hinted at a potential transition to MMA in the near future.
Tye Ruotolo, an IBJJF gi world champion and the current ONE middleweight submission grappling world champion, will defend his title against Izaak Michell, a two-time ADCC Trials champion, on March 1 at ONE 166: Qatar.
