Kody Steele moves to Las Vegas to pursue career

BJJ black belt and professional MMA fighter Kody Steele made the move from Austin to Las Vegas last week to further pursue his fighting career. Steele made the announcement on his Instagram page which showed him in front of a U-Haul truck, which was filled with his possessions as he made the 20-hour drive from state to state.

Alongside this image, he also shared other photos that showed some of his treasured Austin memories such as his training sessions with the Tackett brothers and training at Checkmat Austin. He also revealed that he had lived there for over 11 years in an emotional post.

Here, Steele said: ‘Starting a new chapter in my journey. After 11 awesome years in Austin, Texas, I’m taking a leap of faith to pursue MMA in Vegas. The mix of nerves and excitement is real, but I’m ready to step out of my comfort zone and grow. Grateful for all my Austin memories; I’m gonna miss this place and everyone like crazy. Here’s to embracing the unknown and chasing dreams! Let’s go!’

It is possible that Steele moved to Las Vegas to be closer to the UFC Headquarters which is based there. Over the years, Steele has performed at events such as Polaris and the ADCC qualifiers and has a pro-MMA record of 5-0. As a result, it is highly likely that he will end up in the UFC at some point in the near future.
