IBJJF No Gi Grand Prix 2024 lineup announced

After a five-year hiatus, the prestigious IBJJF No Gi Absolute Grand Prix returns on February 29th, 2024, in Costa Mesa, CA, and boasts an exceptional roster of elite no-gi grapplers. Predicting the victor proves a daunting task, as the tournament features an unparalleled concentration of talent: eight of the world’s most accomplished no-gi practitioners.

This diverse field includes two reigning ADCC World Champions, two current IBJJF No Gi World Champions, and four additional competitors who have either adorned the ADCC podium or received invitations to the renowned event.

Early buzz surrounds Kaynan Duarte, the recent Polaris Absolute Grand Prix victor and reigning ADCC under-99kg champion. However, formidable competition awaits, with several contenders capable of securing the coveted title. Among them is Giancarlo Bodoni, the under-88kg ADCC world champion, who possesses a well-rounded skillset and a penchant for exciting matches.

Adding further intrigue is Roosevelt Sousa, the reigning IBJJF No Gi World Champion in the ultra-heavyweight division and a 2022 ADCC over-99kg bronze medalist. He will clash with Elder Cruz, the 2023 IBJJF No Gi World Champion in the heavyweight category, ensuring a battle between two established forces.

Beyond these champions, the bracket brims with potential dark horses. Dante Leon, a 2022 ADCC bronze medalist and the 2023 IBJJF No Gi Pan Champion in the super-heavyweight division, has repeatedly proven his ability to overcome size disparities. Joining him is Pedro Rocha, the absolute division winner at the same IBJJF No Gi Pan Championship.

Rounding out the roster are ADCC veterans Patrick Gaudio and Haisam Rida, both proven performers in the heavier weight classes and capable of causing upsets on their day.
