Helena Crevar continued her rise on the professional grappling stage with an impressive unanimous decision victory over Paige Ivette Clymer at ONE Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
Competing at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium, Crevar showcased the positional dominance and control that have become trademarks of her game, overcoming a respected world-class opponent in her debut in a new weight division.
According to her coach, John Danaher, Crevar wasted little time imposing her game. After Clymer initiated the action by pulling guard, Crevar immediately worked her way to top position before advancing to mount within the opening moments of the contest.
From there, Crevar continued to improve her position, transitioning to back control and eventually securing a tight body triangle. While she threatened several submission attacks, Clymer displayed tremendous resilience, defending multiple strangulation attempts and surviving until the final bell.
Despite the lack of a submission finish, there was little doubt about who controlled the match. Crevar earned a unanimous decision after spending the majority of the contest in dominant positions.
Danaher praised both athletes following the performance, noting that Crevar “immediately swept her way to top position” before passing to mount and later establishing back control with a body triangle. He also commended Clymer’s toughness, describing her as showing “great fortitude under pressure” by defending numerous submission attempts throughout the match.
The victory is another significant milestone for the young submission grappling star, who continues to establish herself among the sport’s elite. Defeating a proven world-class competitor in a higher weight division further highlights Crevar’s technical ability and composure against top-level opposition.
Danaher also reflected positively on the event itself, describing the evening as “amazing” and congratulating Crevar on another impressive victory.
