Today, UFC champion Jon Jones took to twitter to explain why he infamously hid under a cage. The story goes that he did this to avoid a visit from USADA to avoid drug testing. Apparently, Jones hid under the cage in his gym for hours to avoid getting tested. However, today he claimed it wasn’t USADA he was hiding from. He revealed this information after a back-and-forth with UFC rival Israel Adesenya.
Jones said “I was hiding from Nevada State commission, not USADA and that was years ago…I had just smoked a blunt and was afraid I would fail my test for weed. That’s the actual truth, now everyone knows”.
Twitter troll and Bellator fighter Dillon Danis responded by saying “So you hid for 8 hours because of a blunt but didn’t care to hide for cocaine or turinabol this man really thinks we dumb”. Whatever your views on Danis, it seems he’s quite correct in this instance. Jones has a history of steroid use in UFC and his story just doesn’t make sense.
