November 7th, 2020 will see the Bullpen Submission Series take off. This is a quintet, team style competition which currently has 4 mens teams and 2 pending. These teams are comprised of 5 members with a member being eliminated when they fail to submit an opponent within the time limit. It is an open event and any team of 5 can enter.
The event also has one female hybrid team confirme, the tournament will be capped at 16 teams. Although it doesn’t allow guests due to Covid19, it is being streamed for free on Facebook. Weights are capped at 800lbs for men and 700lbs for women. If the team comes in overweight then the opposing team will be allowed to eliminate one member.
If the match is still tied after all 10 people have been eliminated, the competition will enter EBI overtime rules (the competitor will be picked by the opposing team).
Each match runs for 8 minutes and there are no heel hooks allowed. If there is a 30lbs weight disadvantage then the option will be given for a shorter 5 minute round – however, otherwise it’s a sub-only, nogi event. There is also prize money on offer for the winning team. For instance, if 4 teams enter then the pot is at $1200 for the winner. If there are 8 teams then the pot stands at $2200. To enter it costs $500 per team.
With this said, if you’re in or around the Tuscon area on November the 7th then maybe you can put your money where your mouth is and see if your team is superior! The event will begin with a superfight a 11:30 Pacific Time.
