This week saw Carlos Machado get promoted to red and white coral belt. His previous rank was the red and black belt which in itself is a massive achievement. However, he has now gone one step further to the red and white belt which is a rarity which few in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ever get to see. Not only this, but it means his next belt promotion would take him to the red belt which is the final belt in BJJ.
The promotion came at a ceremony that was attended by hundreds of his students and represented yet another milestone for the dynasty of the legendary Machado family. Upon getting the new belt, Carlos claimed “I’m blessed for the family I was born into” and referred to his students as ‘family’.
