Last night saw Grace Gundrum beat Pati Fontes to win the F2W strawweight no gi belt in the black belt division. This was no surprise to her coaches JM Holland and Zach Maslany who have been praising her grappling skills for years now.
In true 10th Planet style, the victory was secured by the use of a Dead Orchard submission. Here, it looked like a combination of a triangle and armbar was used to force Fontes into tapping. Interestingly, Gundrum is still only 18 years old and was only promoted to black belt a few months back.
