Today, ATOS head honcho Andre Galvao took to Reddit to talk about the rise of the Ruotolo twins and their recent promotion to brown belt. Over the past few years the pair have significantly put their name on the map where top athletes in BJJ are concerned.
To begin with, Galvao was asked whether they’d be attending the next ADCC to which he replied “Yes! They both will be there and I will be there for sure.” He also added that whilst they continue to train in the gi, their main focus is no gi, saying “They can do great on both arts. But we will be focused on the no gi. We want to be the very best at it!”
Lastly, he said they still had improvements to make and would mature with experience, stating “They are super technical already. But we can always improve in all aspects. They still teens and soon they will start getting more mature…experience helps, they have a lot of experience already. But from now on the experience will be more and more against high level black belts. Training wrestling with them is awesome. They never get tired tho haha! I believe they love more wrestling than judo.”
It’s hard to disagree with Galvao whose ATOS HQ is something of a talent factory when it comes to producing some of the world’s best BJJ competitors. With this said, the future is bright for the Ruotolo twins.
