Today footage was uploaded by the IBJJF who showed a black belt ultra heavy match between Cyborg Abreu and Mario Barbosa. At the start of the match, Cyborg sportingly offered to shake the hand of Barbosa who declined and so the match continued. You can see Cyborg was a little shocked with this as his face had a wry smile on it during parts of the match, especially when Barbosa was hesitant to engage with his open guard.
In the end, Cyborg managed to sweep Barbosa from a variation of the de la riva position. Once on top, he eventually submitted his opponent by bow and arrow choke. The match ended without a handshake. This was not the first time Cyborg was involved with a funny opponent, as his Metamoris superfight vs Brendan Schaub was marred in controversy after Schaub admittedly avoided Cyborg for the entire match.
