It’s fair to say that 2020 has been a bad year for obvious reasons. Not just in life, but also grappling has suffered awfully with a number of gym closures and competition cancelations due to the impact of Covid 19. Today ADCC announced that they would delay their 2021 event until 2022.
This comes after the various lockdowns and various health and safety rules which stopped the tournaments progress going into 2021. For instance, a number of qualifiers were already delayed and it’s not just in North America, a lot of the globe would also be a logistical nightmare to hold trials with the current Covdid 19 situation going on. Not only this, but as the virus continues to rumble on, there’s no certainty that ADCC could even be done in 2021 anyway. With this in mind, the event is now scheduled for 2022.
