“Nobody is going to get you in shape!” – BJJ Black belt on discipline needed for training

In one video, ‘BJJ after 40’ spoke openly about the self discipline and motivation needed to accomplish physical goals. Not just talking about exercise, this advice also applies to life in general. He said, “Being healthy is literally a moment by moment decision.” With this said, your mentality should focus on fluid growth rather than fixed goals.

He continued saying “You can wish and hope all day about ‘I want to be a black belt someday, I want to be a blue belt…I want, I want, I want. It’s not going to magically happen. You actually have to take action and create some momentum yourself.” So, if you do want to succeed then it’s best to start now and stop making excuses if you truly want to progress.
