Today saw Youtuber Austin Carlisle grapple his friend who had a 170lbs weight advantage on him. Carlisle was honest and upfront about the situation, claiming to be a white belt with over 1 year of training, whilst his opponent was completely untrained.
The match took part in no gi, with his friend rocking complete civilian clothing including jeans. Anyway, Carlisle managed to snatch a takedown from a duck under which was impressive even with being significantly more experienced than his opponent. From here he took the back from mount and eventually got a rear naked choke on his opponent. Although it may have been different with strikes allowed, it proved grappling can seriously nullify a strength and weight disadvantage when done correctly.
