After winning gold at the IBJJF World Championships at age 19 it does beg the question where do you go next? Since then Tammi Musumeci has gone on to dominate at Worlds as well as several Pan Ams golds too. Combined with her brother Mikey Musumeci, the pair have gone on to be one of the most dominant sibling duo’s in BJJ and are still very young.
It turns out that Tammi Musumeci is more than just a BJJ practitioner and today got sworn into becoming a lawyer…whilst many BJJ athletes were devoting their lives to the sport, she was at the top and training to be a lawyer at the same time. Not bad. What this means for her BJJ is debatable, it could be a qualification for the sake of it, but possibly means she will become a full-time lawyer which will probably put an end to her BJJ career at the top level. Her brother Mikey said “Using your work ethic you learn from jiu jitsu and applying it to other areas of life! Proud to have her as my sister.”
