Sadly the world of BJJ is still littered with garish rashguard designs that are somewhat common, worn by ‘edgy’ members of various gyms they are now a little mainstream. Thankfully this trend hasn’t really caught on with gi’s, so we’ve scoured the internet for the ugliest BJJ gi’s and this is the best we could find. The tie dyed gi has always been an eye-sore but this is something else. Apparently, they are custom made by a company called ‘Happy Kimonos’ who also have to stitch equally ugly patches onto their gi’s too.
The pictured gi was originally from Koral, but Happy Kimonos probably then destroy normal looking gi’s by using their own tie dying process…this is the result. Not only is this gi not IBJJF legal, but you’ll also stick out like a sore thumb at your local gym and for all the wrong reasons. Thankfully it looks like Happy Kimonos are no longer around bringing these monstrosities to the world. We can’t imagine why either.
