On the mats, it’s been a great year for Elisabeth Clay who has dominated the competition scene whilst putting on some great, exciting displays in the process. Today the icing was put on the cake as she was promoted to black belt by Osvaldo Moizinho and Samir Chantre. In a touching Instagram post she stated “8 and a half years of hard work, I started training 5 days a week right off the bat. There have been a lot of people that have helped me during my career.”
Clay is a regular at Ares BJJ in Texas and has been training consistently for over 8 years. There are big things tipped for Clay who has already proven her credentials against various high level black belts. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Clay rack up medals at all the major competitions such as Worlds and ADCC in the near future.
