We recently interviewed Chad ‘Kodiak’ Fields about his competition training under Cyborg Abreu. Here, the veteran discussed how the energy of the training inspired him and others to do so well in competition. It seems this insight was correct, as last night he defeated Tom DeBlass to become the F2W No-Gi Champion at the Masters, Super-Heavyweight division. This was no easy feat as DeBlass is a highly regarded competitor and was the bookies favorite to win. However, a decision victory saw Fields gain the belt.
Not only this, but it was a great day for his Fight Sports team in general s they went 4-0. Perhaps the highlight of F2W157 was Vagner Rocha getting a 50/50 heel hook on Gabriel Almeida with seconds left.
