Back in September we covered the disturbing article based around Nicollas Welker Araujo who was sentenced to 3 years for sexual acts with a minor. Today, it was revealed that a teenager is now suing him for alleged sexual molestation and is seeking compensation for the damages caused.
The news broke based around the Los Angeles Superior Court as it was revealed that a lawsuit filed on her behalf by her guardian on Tuesday.
Hopefully justice gets served and as a community, BJJ is reminded that with just because you have a position of status or power, it doesn’t mean that you can abuse this by taking advantage of trust with those who are influenced by power. With this, hopefully something positive can be learned from the situation.
