It’s been a busy week for Gordon Ryan, just yesterday he was caught in a war of words with longtime rival AJ Agazarm. Today, he turned his attention to Andre Galvao. For a while now, there has been a lot of arguments between the two and the possibility of a potential superfight.
The issue started with Gordon Ryan who stated “Kaynan and JT (Torres) refused to release the breakdown of our rolls in Miami, even after I promised to donate the proceeds to wounded veterans”. This caused a response by Galvao who wrote “Fight him at WNO. Do it! Stop giving excuses…you only wanna fight no time limit…stop with all this BS! You only fight no time limit because you know anyone can beat you…your game is over. You won’t surprise anyone anymore. Do it…fight @kaynanduarte at WNO. People don’t want to watch a two hour match. You know it…you’re TOO SMART sometimes. 15min isn’t enough for you to finish the fight? Also, Why don’t you just donate your money to the vets or anyone else. Why do you need other people to do it with you? Aren’t you rich? Be generous! Stop trying to play the good one here. If you want to help…go ahead and do it. And when you do it, keep your mouth shut…no one needs to know you’re “TOO good”! Stop it!”
After this, Ryan responded again with a video clip of Galvao losing to Robert Drysdale in a 2007 ADCC match. Ryan said “If you wanna see Andre get bodied, head to my story. Also, swipe right to see him getting bodied by Drysdale. I’m not sure what’s worse, Andre’s lack of back defense or Hulk trying to deadlift his way out of a body triangle”
Again, Galvao responded and claimed ” FYI Drysdale and I trained together during this camp. We were teammates. ADCC penalized me because of our “fight”. This was 2007. This was 13 years ago and when we post you getting attacked by Pena 2 years ago you cry like a baby saying the fight was too long ago. YOU’RE AN IDIOT! Haha! You are a fool!”
The beef continued to rage on, with Ryan adding “Andre and Drysdale had a fake match at ADCC. This is totally illegal and usually grounds for lifetime bans. Imagine winning, but having more fake fights than real? fake fights are all too common in this sport. but this is the 1st time Andre is openly admitting it, after Drysdale always denied it. this is getting interesting, how many fake matches did Andre have that he won?” to which Galvao added “You’re such an imbecile haha”
Finally, Galvao couldn’t help himself and did a post of his own, stating “Gordon Ryan getting smoked by @pichaelmerez. Gord posted a video of me “fighting” my teammate Drysdale. The video he posted from me was from 13 years ago. Here’s a video of the sucker GR getting smoked by my student @pichaelmerez at ADCC Trials 2015 (5 years ago). Even after getting beat up like that on that Trials, he got invited straight to ADCC 2017 bracket 2 years later. Always easy path for Mr GR. WHY? **nice back defense against a real opponent. Great pace! By the way… @pichaelmerez was a purple belt”
So, what are your thoughts on the situation? Was Gordon Ryan right in stating Galvao threw the 2007 ADCC match or is Galvao correct in saying Ryan’s back defense was bad too? At one point, Galvao even offered Ryan an MMA fight but since then things have quietened…for now at least. This one will undoubtedly flair up again at some point with both competitors staking their claim.
