Tony Ferguson recently took to instagram to explain why he didn’t tap to the extra tight armbar of Charles Oliveira and also what he did in the aftermath of his recent loss.
Ferguson claimed “My arm is alright” and claimed it was thoughts of his son Armand Anthony who is double jointed in his own elbow that got him through the sequence. He also added he has a strong mental capacity to endure pain.
Ferguson also went on to say that after the fight he went straight to spar and hit pads to get blood flowing in to his injured left arm.
The images above show that he has also had dry cupping therapy on the said arm, which aims to draw out blood, in turn increasing blood circulation to the affected area. These new red blood cells should help repair any injury faster.
With around 10 seconds remaining in the round, Tony Fergusons arm was bent well beyond 180 degrees towards the mat. Not only this, but Oliveira had fully hipped up and also had Fergusons arm under his own armpit, which is considered to be the tightest armbar you can ever lock up.
