Andy Murasaki has been promoted to black belt by Andre Galvao who adds yet another impressive black belt to his roster. This addition means Galvao will further cement his legacy of being an all time coaching great, as well as competitor.
20 year old Murasaki was originally promoted to brown belt in June 2019 but has completely crushed his opponents at this level. Galvao must already know that Murasaki can compete with some of the best fighters in the world. Murasaki was already considered to be the #1 pound for pound brown belt in the world having only been at the belt for 1.5 years.His move up to black belt will have quite a lot of athletes concerned, especially if they are in the u77kg weight category.
The Brazilian born athlete almost always competes in the under 77kg category, yet regularly wins double gold in various competitions. His latest and most notable being a double gold at the 2020 pan ams. During his time at brown belt his only losses have come by decision, he has never lost by points or submission since purple belt.
