Not many BJJ practitioners will ever have the pleasure to promote their own father to black belt. However, that pleasure was today awarded to Victor Hugo who had the pleasure of promoting his own father. In an emotional statement, he said “Today I had one of the biggest honors of my life in jiu-jitsu, I was able to tie the black belt in my dad! The guy who got me started in jiu-jitsu by the eye of mine and his first jiu-jitsu professor, Ricardo Costa here in my hometown Fortaleza”
The big man has had a stellar year in terms of competing, but even for such a competitor nothing will beat the pride in promoting his own father to black belt.
