Olympian Wrestler and Catch legend Danny Hodge dies aged 88

Few men will ever leave a legacy on submission wrestling like Danny Hodge did. This is why it’s sad news that the wrestling legend died on the 25th December, 2020 aged 88.

Hodge was famous for getting a silver medal at the 1956 Olympic games and also trained as a pro wrestler amongst other things. Not only this but he could also famously crush apples in one hand, proving his inhuman levels of strength. However, from a BJJ/grapplers standpoint, he is perhaps best known for his innovations in the world of Catch wrestling. Here, one of his famed moves was a submission hold akin to the Twister that was later popularised by Eddie Bravo.

With this said, hopefully Hodge is having a good time grappling in the afterlife, RIP.
