Gilbert Burns on Conor McGregor – “I think his grappling is good, I think he’s very under-rated”

Gilbert Burns is arguably one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes to crossover into the world of MMA. He has successfully proven his BJJ is effective in the cage and as a result, his opinion is held in high regard.

He recently made a video based on his thoughts on Conor McGregor and said “I think his grappling is good and he grapples a lot. He trains, he’s good…a lot of people think he’s bad but remember he swept Nate Diaz in the first fight and get on top. I remember he escaped from a guillotine from Chad Mendes when they first fought. He trains a lot with Dillon Danis…I think he’s very under-rated”

McGregor is currently a brown belt under John Kavanagh and seems to train almost daily. With this said, the idea that he is somehow a poor grappler is a little odd, nonetheless people still claim this even though the likes of Gilbert Burns have debunked this myth.
