A Florida Deputy by the name of Brian LaVigne was tragically killed whilst he was only one day away from retirement. The Corporal had been serving in Florida County for 30 years and had a wife and two kids. The death was supposedly caused by a man who was fleeing the police. Apparently, he purposely crashed into LaVigne, although this is still yet to be confirmed if it was intentional.
Nonetheless, it is a cause of heartbreak in the law enforcement community as well as the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community. LaVigne was a volunteer teacher at the Gracie Fishhawk Jiu Jitsu school where he taught self defense. This is a highly respected gym in the area and the the 54 year old will be dearly missed by many, RIP.
