It’s taken over two years since the infamous event took place, but the law has now decided to give Ralph Gracie a 6 month prison sentence to Ralph Gracie after he assaulted Flavio Almeida.
Alongside the sentence, Ralph is also on probation for 3 years, has compulsory anger management classes and also has to pay a $50,000 fine. The event in question happened when Ralph sucker punched Flavio Almeida at a Jiu Jitsu competition. The assault was supposedly due to Ralph being angry at Almeida who he believed was moving into his territory with his Gracie Barra brand. For over 20 years now, Ralph Gracie has taught at his BJJ gym in San Diego. This assault was caught on camera.
For all involved it has been a long, drawn out affair but it is now settled.
