Approximately one month ago it was announced that Ryan Hall would once again be fighting in the UFC against Dan Ige. This was expected to be Hall’s first fight in the UFC for over 1.5 years with many opponents not wanting to fight against his unusual and tricky style of kicks mixed with a BJJ style they are not familiar with.
Dan Ige had taken the chance to face off against Hall seriously by purchasing Ryan Halls online instructionals in order to get a better idea of his approach.
Not too much has been discovered about exactly how Hall injured himself, although it is known to be a hip flexor injury from an awkward fall.
Hall posted the following statement on instagram “I’m very sorry to say that, due to an injury training, I will be unable to compete on March 13. Apparently, even after 16 years in the martial arts, I still haven’t learned how to fall down without hurting myself…”.
The setback comes at a difficult time for Hall who will turn 36 in the next few days. At this point with the number of opponents who are unwilling to fight him alongside his age, it is questionable whether he will ever fight at the highest level again.
