It may come as a surprise to some, but David Goggins does not actually train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Although he seemingly has the perfect personality type, Goggins has said before that he’s “Not that into it” after being suggested into it by Joe Rogan on his Podcast.
David Goggins is known for running ultra marathons and lifting weights, which are two very personal, individual ways to work out. As BJJ is quite a social way to exercise, this means it quite different to what Goggins enjoys.
As Goggins is an ex Navy SEAL, it’s presumed that he knows combat anyway due to his training. Combined with his incredible work ethic that involves weights and running, it’s fair to say that he’s in fantastic shape. Because of this, Goggins is already in good shape when it comes to fighting, albeit everyone can still learn from BJJ.
