Today the Brazilian prodigy Mica Galvao was promoted to black belt. Staggeringly, he is still only 17 years old too. With this in mind, he’s regarded as one of the brightest Brazilian talents to come out of the country.
He said in Portuguese, “Today, at the age of 17, I received from the hands of the master Toton Hoaleixo”. Interestingly, he also mentioned training in no gi to not only improve his BJJ, but also his luta livre skills.
At brown belt, Mica Galvao famously won double gold at the IBJJF Grandslam and has been training since he was a young child.
