This week saw a huge announcement made by ADCC and FloGrappling. In short, Andre Galvao has agreed to defend his ADCC superfight title at next years ADCC event, which will be hosted in North America. Previously, it looked unlikely that Galvao would be competing at the event which caused friction between him and Gordon Ryan.
As it happens, he had secretly messaged ADCC over two months ago, confirming his desire to compete. This was before Gordon Ryan had retired from competition due to stomach complications. With this said, there is a real possibility that the two could face off at next years ADCC if Gordon Ryan can return to good health. Alternate options include the likes of Felipe Pena who is also seen as a potential match-up for the ATOS owner.
If Galvao does happen to face Gordon Ryan then it will line up to be the fight of the decade, and will be as anticipated as the legendary Roger Gracie vs Marcus Buchecha match that was also years in the making. Unsurprisingly, grappling fans are very excited for this one.
