Korean actor Chun Jung-Myung has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since the early 2010’s, and in one photograph celebrated a new stripe, putting up a picture of his belt and captioning the image, “Another stripe is added~ a snap shot celebrating with my masters.”
Best known for his stint in K-Drama series Fashion 70s, Chun Jung-Myung is also in good company where his BJJ is concerned. He is trained under the legendary John Frankl who helped bring BJJ to Korea and has developed the art massively in the country. As it happens, Frankl awarded competitor Wanki Chae his black belt, who is widely considered as the best BJJ practitioner in Korea.
Since training under Frankl, Jung-Myung has since been promoted to the rank of purple belt. As seen below in the video, he demonstrates a bow and arrow choke from the turtle position.
