When it comes to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we all know that there’s some pretty expensive gi’s out there. In fact, at the higher end of prices, these costs are borderline ridiculous. However, if you’re not a trust fund baby then fear not – as we’ve scoured the internet to find the cheapest gi’s out there. So, if you’re training on a budget then this may be of use for you.
What’s also worth noting is that it’s an industry standard that most gi’s use similar manufacturers in the likes of Pakistan and China. Because of this, just because something is cheap and affordable, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will fall apart.
Often, the big difference is in branding which justifies expensive prices. If you’re very fortunate then sometimes you can even snag brand new gi’s from places like eBay from failed BJJ businesses. These will be sold at knock-down prices but can be difficult to get hold of. Have you ever heard of stories of gi’s breaking after a couple of months? Not really…because generally it doesn’t happen.
Here’s the cheapest gi that we could find on Amazon (brand new):

REEVO Guard Ultra Light BJJ Gi
Like many of the bigger brands, this also comes with a free white belt. With this said, if you’re wondering about starting BJJ but don’t want a big financial commitment then this gi is ideal. Even if you do train already but need a back up, then again this fits the bill.
At $35 it’s a steal. It has reinforced knees which are usually the first part of a gi to go, so you don’t need to worry about that. Secondly, it is made from cotton and is also lightweight using a pearl weave. What’s more is that it’s also available in four different colors, so variety is not an issue either.
Lastly, although Reevo isn’t a known brand, it’s logo is quite subtle. It has the name near the lapel and its logo on the arm. That’s it. There’s no flamboyant, big patches that you’d expect with an oldschool Brazilian gi and it costs roughly one third of most standard BJJ gi’s.

However, if you’re looking for something a little different then there are other options too. Step forward, the…
Elite Sports BJJ Gi
This gi is available in 9 different colors and is slightly more expensive than the previous gi. From black to pink colors, there’s many available options. It’s also IBJJF approved so you don’t need to worry about certain technicalities if you plan to compete in IBJJF competitions.
This also comes with a free belt and also has ripstop technology on the knees which is also useful. Like the Reevo gi, it’s also devoid of any huge logos or badges which also gives it a classy look and is preshrunk.
The only issue with this gi is that unlike the Reevo, it can be slightly more expensive with certain designs, such as A2 in blue. Nonetheless, it’s one of the cheapest gi’s on the market so you can’t really go wrong.

However, there is one more option…
Jayefo Sports Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi
The Jayefo Sports Gi is a similar price to the Reevo gi and is available in 7 different colors. Once again, it’s preshrunk and is also IBJJF approved. This gi also features the Jayefo logo which is on the top of the gi but is quite small.
However, what stands out most about this gi is that it comes with a one year warranty. This is a great policy to have in case your gi breaks during that time. It also shows confidence in the product as it basically says that Jayefo believes you will be satisfied with their gi which speaks volumes. At around $35, once more this gi is a real steal.
