During a video back in 2016, Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman and lead singer Anthony Kiedis was seen doing a Carpool Karaoke with host James Corden. In a bizarre turn of events, this led to Kiedis claiming that he and his band used to wrestle on tour. It turns out that Kiedis is actually a solid enough wrestler and showed off his BJJ skills. Whether the rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers group are good at BJJ remains to be seen.
At one point during the video, he and James Corden get out of the car and begin to wrestle on the grass. Corden is clearly an amateur wrestler and shoots in for a sloppy takedown, which leads to Kiedis responding with a double leg takedown of his own.
Corden then does a classic amateur mistake of trying to headlock Kiedis as he hes taken down to the turf. Once there, Kiedis demonstrates a textbook pressure pass from the top half guard position, eventually ending in the mount position.
At this point, James Corden physically taps the ground and says “I submit, you destroyed me.” Interestingly, Anthony Kiedis isn’t the first rockstar to practice BJJ and there’s a number of others who are pretty good at grappling too.
