Tori Spelling may be best known for her stint in Beverley Hills 90210 but has also trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well. This shows that it may be possible to mix glamour with the ruggedness of BJJ training after all!
Spelling trained under the legendary Jean Jacques Machado and was seen performing a hip throw on him. Regarding this takedown, she wrote “flipping my professor Jean Jacques Machado and love my gi from SubmissionFC”
It makes sense that Spelling would train under Machado seeing as his gym is located in California. Over the years, he has also trained with other celebrity martial artists such as Joe Rogan too. Funnily enough though, it is his brother Rigan Machado who has something of a stranglehold over celebrities when it comes to BJJ and includes the likes of Charlie Hunnam and Bradley Cooper under his tutelage.
So, don’t be surprised if one day you see Tori Spelling hit an uchi mata on reality TV. It probably won’t happen but you never know!
