It’s been a good week for the Ruotolo brothers. Yesterday Andre Galvao promoted them to black belt at the ATOS HQ. A few days before, they competed for the World’s gold and silver medals at brown belt. Before this momentous occasion, the brothers had trained BJJ for 15 years.
During this time, they have racked up an impressive medal haul and the names Kade and Tye Ruotolo have become synonymous with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Speaking on the belt promotion, they said “We are super grateful for all the experiences we’ve had and proud of our accomplishments so far. Thanks to everyone who have been a part of our growth on and off the mats”
In recent years, the ATOS HQ has become a talent factory when it comes to producing elite BJJ competitors, so their promotion is not too surprising. In fact, you could argue that they’ve been black belts in technique for several years and at this point, the belt is more of a formality.
