Undoubtedly, Wagner Moura is best known for his role as Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar in the hit Netflix TV show, Narcos. Here, he looked exactly like Escobar and showed his lifestyle over the 2-part series. As a result, he was catapulted to international stardom and went from a Brazilian actor to an international actor overnight.
However, we’ve recently learned that Moura is also a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Honestly, this isn’t too surprising considering he’s Brazilian, but still it’s a little shocking. It turns out that Moura has been training BJJ for years and has been a purple belt since at least 2016 (if not longer).
Unlike certain other celebs, Moura is known for training with everyone too, instead of opting for privates or flow rolls. He is Brazilian after all! These days, it looks like Moura doesn’t train BJJ much anymore. This isn’t too shocking considering his busy schedule but hopefully one day he will return to the mats!
