This week has seen both of the Ruotolo brothers shoot their shot towards ADCC GOAT Gordon Ryan. Just yesterday, Tye Ruotolo wrote on Instagram “Remember that Darce at Modolfo? It would be competitive now and I’m 19 and natural. I guarantee you retire before I gain 15 pounds. Pure facts, no ill intent. Let’s do the same deal you did with Pena. No time limit.”
As you can see, it looks like Tye Ruotolo is hungry for a superfight match with Gordon Ryan. Interestingly, he also called for a no time limit ruleset. This is because he is known for having endless cardio. However, so is Gordon Ryan.
Speaking of Ryan, he responded by saying “How about you put up your 50k win bonus from ONE and I’ll put up my same 100k that I did with Pena? 2-1 odds no time limit. Just remember, I’m not Josh Hinger, and you couldn’t beat him.”
So, this match could potentially happen but it seems as though negotiations are just beginning at this point. This statement from Tye comes just days after his brother Kade also said “You know, even if I were to roll with Gordon, I don’t think he can heel hook me. So mentally, I feel very confident in my heel hook defense.”
After the Ruotolo’s brilliant ADCC runs – they have become some of the hottest names in BJJ. Of course, taking on The King would be a different challenge altogether. Hopefully we see a Ruotolo vs Gordon Ryan some time soon.
