Whilst Gordon Ryan is best known for his technique on the mats, he showed a different side to him this week when he made an Instagram video to clarify his recent situation with an unnamed business partner. Here, he mentioned how his website had been handled by a friend who was not fulfilling orders from customers, nor was this acquaintance giving Ryan access to the website either.
Here he said, “I have to address something unfortunate, I’m not going to go into too much detail right now. I had a ‘friend of mine‘ who asked me to help build a website for me to get the books out, sell the supplements, and stuff like that. Long story short, there’s been an internal dispute and it now turns out that I have no access to my website, merchandise, supplements, books, or anything related to my website. He has yet to hand over the keys to the website or anything. I literally have no control over this.”
As you can imagine, this would make Ryan look bad, and he admitted that this was awful for his brand. Ryan went on to explain that this included orders for his recent book, supplements, and other merchandise. He even went on to claim that there was at least $100,000 of money tied up and that his stock was being held up in a storage unit in Texas, which he did not have access to.
Furthermore, Ryan concluded by saying that he was sorry to his fans and would try to give them something extra to make up for it. He also stated that he had been in discussion with lawyers and that his only option left was to take the acquaintance to court. Interestingly, one of Gordon Ryan’s main themes of his book is to not trust anyone either – a piece of advice that is now coming back to haunt him.
