Jake Hadley promoted to BJJ brown belt by Bradley Hill

Last night saw British MMA fighter Jake Hadley extend his record in MMA to 9-1. He did this by defeating his opponent Carlos Candelario with a triangle choke in the second round. This would be his fifth submission victory as a fighter – which proved his quality as a submission artist.

At the time, his cornerman watched on – who was also a distinguished grappler in the name of Bradley Hill. If you didn’t know, Hill is a black belt under Braulio Estima and is well known for his BJJ skills. After the fight, Hill gave Hadley his well earned brown belt. As you can see in the video, Hadley was ecstatic and the smile on his face said it all. He even did a backward roll as a celebration.

Upon giving him his new brown belt, coach Bradley Hill joked, “I was just waiting on something other than a rear naked choke. I wanted to see some variety” which was alluding to his previous rear naked choke wins.
