With a large mat space, gi and no-gi classes, and a kids program too, Roll Deep is a BJJ practitioner’s dream and it has something for everyone. In my opinion, it also has one of the best atmospheres in the entirety of Nottingham where training is concerned.

Gracie Barra Nottingham
Gracie Barra is a BJJ gym located near the city center of Nottingham. The gym has been around for years and has countless black belts, hobbyists, and competitors alike. It also offers classes in gi and no-gi BJJ for students of all levels.

Nottingham MMA
Nottingham MMA is a martial arts gym that offers classes in BJJ, Muay Thai, boxing, and MMA. The BJJ program features the likes of Shane Curtis, a black belt and one of the best competitors on the UK circuit.

Another MMA gym, this also has a solid BJJ schedule (including the gi) which is ideal if you want to do both. As you’d expect with an MMA gym, this will have tough rounds and a gritty mentality so expect to be put through your paces!

UFC Gym Nottingham
Opened by Michael Bisping in 2020, this is a standard UFC chain gym. Some of these have worse standards than others – but this is legit and the BJJ is taught by a black belt named Alex. As you’d expect with a UFC gym, the facilities and top notch and the teaching is solid too.
