Dave Bautista Details how he first got into BJJ

Dave Bautista, renowned for his illustrious career in professional wrestling within the WWE, has successfully transitioned into the world of acting. Yet, it may come as a surprise to numerous WWE enthusiasts that he has dedicated a considerable amount of time to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, achieving the distinction of earning his brown belt in BJJ in the previous June. According to the wrestler, he began training back in 2010 and even had a professional MMA fight at one point.

Recently, Bautista took to Instagram to talk about his BJJ journey and described his early by saying: “I immediately fell in love. It’s a puzzle I’ll never solve and if you know me, you know I get obsessed with things I can’t figure out.” Since 2010, Bautista’s career has grown massively, having originally been viewed as a wrestler. Since then he has starred in Hollywood blockbusters such as James Bond and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Interestingly, Bautista isn’t the only WWE star to go into BJJ either. His friend and ex-co-worker MVP is also a brown belt. Over the years they have trained together. Overall, this makes sense considering that both are grappling arts albeit with very different styles. For those unaware, Bautista is currently one promotion away from being awarded the coveted black belt. In fairness, he has been training (sometimes sporadically) since 2010 so you can’t say that he hasn’t earned it either.
