Last week, NAGA announced their latest competition which is set to be held at Centralia, Washington on Saturday, March 30th. This will be a no-gi event and as ever, it will feature medals, championship belts, and the iconic NAGA samurai swords. Speaking of which, Gordon Ryan turned heads last year when he proudly posed with his NAGA samurai sword, proving that even the greatest ever wasn’t too big to appreciate it as one of BJJ’s coolest gifts for winning a competition.
Over the past few weeks, various NAGA events have been penned in for March, including Detroit, El Paso, San Diego, Baltimore, and more. Based on this, it looks like 2024’s competition is already in full swing.
It turns out that NAGA is closing in on 30 years of competition, as it was founded in 1995. Since then, NAGA has been providing a platform for BJJ and grappling enthusiasts to showcase their skills and compete at all levels, from beginners to experts.
Over the years, NAGA has played a significant role in promoting the sport of grappling and BJJ in North America, organizing tournaments across the country, and attracting thousands of competitors annually. Their events offer a wide range of divisions, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to compete and test their skills against fellow martial artists.
