Craig Jones to face Philip Rowe in Pit Submission Series match

Craig Jones is set to face UFC veteran Philip Rowe in a BJJ match at the Pit Submission Series on February 23rd in Mexico City. This will be the first grappling bout of the year for Jones who is gearing up for ADCC later on in the year. According to the Australian grappler, ADCC may also be his final competition for his career.

As for Rowe, this isn’t his first grappling super fight either. A couple of years ago, he fought Gordon Ryan in a hybrid rules match. Unlike some UFC fighters, Rowe is no stranger to BJJ and has a number of submission victories throughout his career. Here, he has won by rear naked chokes and guillotines over the years.

This will be the second Pit Submission Series bout of the year, as it previously hosted three New Wave competitors in late January. It will also see Jones fly out from Austin to Mexico City, which seems to be the norm for Jones these days as he spent much of last year traveling the world.

Pit Submission Series is a new addition to the world of combat sports, spearheaded by Karate Combat, the same organization known for its thrilling hybrid karate fights. The series features professional grappling matches that take place in the iconic Karate Combat pit, a unique fighting surface surrounded by walls.
