Craig Jones to face Rafael Lovato Jr. at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6

The sixth iteration of the UFC Fight Pass Invitational will take place on March 3rd, 2024, featuring two highly anticipated matchups showcasing some of the most accomplished grapplers on the planet. Notably, two prominent representatives of Austin’s B-Team Jiu-Jitsu will be vying for dominance within the competition. While details regarding the remaining bouts are yet to be unveiled, prior Fight Pass Invitational events offer a strong precedent for additional elite BJJ black belt encounters. The promotion historically presents either an absolute tournament or a series of superfights to complete the cards.

The main event features a clash of seasoned veterans who have consistently achieved and maintained peak status within the sport. Craig Jones, making his return to the Fight Pass Invitational, will lock horns with American Jiu-Jitsu legend, Rafael Lovato Jr. Both grapplers received invitations to the Under-99kg division at ADCC 2022, delivering remarkable performances. Jones secured a silver medal, while Lovato Jr. narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.

The co-main event promises another thrilling display as another B-Team Jiu-Jitsu co-founder, Nicky Rodriguez, squares off against the reigning IBJJF No-Gi Absolute World Champion, Roberto Jimenez. Though Rodriguez hasn’t achieved significant competitive success within the IBJJF, he boasts victories over several world champions operating under that ruleset. Jimenez, however, stands as a formidable opponent, recognized for his exciting grappling style and proven ability to overcome size disadvantages.
