Gordon Ryan signs to ONE for MMA career

A couple of years back, nogi GOAT Gordon Ryan claimed that he would be going into a career in MMA. However, this never happened and in the end he returned to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Financially, you could say he’s done quite well for himself and it wasn’t the worst move.

Today however, the ONE chairman Chatri Sityodtong announced on Facebook that he had signed Gordon to his promotion for both MMA and submission grappling. This alludes that Ryan could get paid by ONE to do both BJJ superfights as well as MMA.

Interestingly, Gordon Ryan recently hinted at his return during a promo for his WNO match with Vagner Rocha, saying “I train MMA from 9AM and then BJJ from 11AM onwards.” Not only this but his long-time friend and training partner Garry Tonon has also had a successful career in ONE, whilst also still competing in ADCC simultaneously. This brings the next question, could we possibly see a Gordon Ryan vs Marcus Buchecha superfight?
